Thinking of caring for ourselves makes us think that we're not gonna care for others, but really caring for ourselves is really about others. If I'm not loving myself and if I'm not taken care of, I can't really adequately and authentically love you. (upbeat music) Hey, I am Neca, and welcome back to "Ask A Coach." Our next question comes from Malina. She says, "I have a question about self-love and self-care, "and loving others and caring for others. "I've realized I'm only able to do one of those things, "not both at the same time. "How do I practice love for others "without neglecting myself?" First of all, excellent, excellent question. Sometimes, thinking of caring for ourselves makes us think that we're not gonna care for others, but really caring for ourselves is really about others, right? Because if I'm not loving myself and if I'm not taken care of, I can't really adequately and authentically love you. I think self-care can be done by creating a very personalized self-care plan, things that are based on what makes you feel loved, what makes you feel worthy, what makes you feel excited, and then we create small little baby steps to get you there, and then when you wanna incorporate other people, we can do that, right? So that they can see you taking care of yourself. Also, another thing we can do is look for some of our self-care activities in the Headspace app, which you can also practice. So hope this was helpful, Malina, and I'm looking forward to hearing more about your self-care plan....
