Greetings and welcome to this SOS meditation for Feeling overstimulated as a parent. Parenting can be a rewarding and beautiful experience watching a beautiful little person grow up into a beautiful, grown person. However, it's not uncommon for a parent to easily become overstimulated. It is often hard work. It is said that raising and caring for a child is the equivalent of working a full-time job. So before we formally start this practice, let's take a moment to fully acknowledge and accept that it's perfectly okay and normal to feel overstimulated as a parent at times, shedding any judgment or guilt for feeling so. And now adopting a comfortable, dignified posture of awareness. And if it's comfortable for you, gently closing the eyes and taking a gentle deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth. And with that exhalation, returning the breath to its natural rhythm and allowing your full attention to gently drop into this moment. And just for a moment, allowing your attention to follow the natural flow of your breath. And now we'll gently shift into a brief breathing exercise to shift you into a more relaxed state of mind and body. We will breathe in for a count four, hold for count four, exhale for a count of four, and then repeat. If anything ever feels too uncomfortable, allowing yourself to pause for a moment and returning when you feel ready. So let's begin. Breathing in through the nose, two, three, four. Holding, two, three, four. And exhaling, two, three, four. Breathing in through the nose, two, three, four. Holding, two, three, four. And exhaling, two, three, four. Breathing in through the nose, two, three, four. Holding, two, three, four. And exhaling, two, three, four. And now returning the breath to its natural rhythm and noticing how you're feeling in this moment. And with your next breath, gently opening your eyes if they were closed and knowing that this practice is always here for you to come back to as you continue on your magical journey of parenting....
