Better mental health starts with Headspace

Hi, there, it's Rosie here. Welcome to this meditation for Carrying Resentment. Today, we're exploring the heavy burden of carrying resentment and how we can release it with kindness and compassion for ourselves. It's important to recognize that holding onto resentment only weighs us down and prevents us from moving forward. It can be a challenging feat, as I've personally experienced the weight of resentment and its impact on my own fertility journey. At times, bitterness and anger can consume us, but through practicing loving kindness, we can begin to let go and find peace within ourselves. I have found this to be so helpful in moments when I've felt lost. Remember, you're not alone on this journey. We're in this together, supporting each other every step of the way. Also, it's important to keep in mind to approach this session with gentleness. Do your best to give yourself some space when you need it. But for now, let's take a moment, whether you're seated on a chair or on the floor, allow yourself to settle into your body and give the mind permission to settle. Start with your eyes open and a soft gaze, feeling the space around you, whether it's the room you're in or the environment, wherever you find yourself right now. And when you're ready, let's take a few deep breaths together. Inhale deeply through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth, releasing any tension or distractions. Gently bringing your attention to your breath. Just taking a moment to become aware of your environment, noticing what is present. Now, gently bringing your attention to your breath, noticing the sensation of the air entering and leaving your body, noticing how you feel. As you continue to breathe deeply, noticing if there's any resentment or feelings of anger that arise without judgment. Begin to visualize sending yourself happiness and receiving it. Noticing what it feels like. Observe how it feels in your body. It's okay if this feels challenging. Just try your best. Visualize yourself as happy for a moment without judgment, and then letting go of that image, just gently releasing it. Now, bring to mind someone you care about. Begin sending them happiness and now letting go of that image. If visualizing proves to be difficult, simply bring to mind something or someone you're grateful for. Noticing your breath. As you continue to notice your breath, gently shift your focus back to yourself. Visualize your future free from resentment and filled with peace and acceptance. Releasing the weight of resentment and embracing a state of peace. Noticing how this shift in perspective makes you feel. Allowing yourself to embrace the possibility of a future filled with loving kindness. Now, letting go of any images in the mind, still aware of the breath, aware of any feelings that are present. Very gently, shift your attention back to your body and back to your breath. As you go about your day to day, as best you can,...
