Hello, friends, it's Rosie here. And welcome to this meditation for election stress and embracing compassion, empathy, and understanding. As we navigate the ups and downs of life, especially during times of heightened political discourse, it's essential to remember the power of compassion and understanding. In today's session, we'll go on a journey of compassion and empathy guided by the gentle rhythm of our breath. This time of year can be really trying for so many people, and it's important for us to feel supported so that we know how to release anger and sadness, and learn how and when to step away from heated discussions gracefully. Mindfulness is a great tool to help us understand and embrace diverse perspectives as best we can. As we go into this session, let's embrace the truth that compassion is not a weakness, but a profound strength, a beacon of light that guides us toward deeper connections and greater harmony. So, let's take a moment to find a comfortable position, either seated on a chair or on the floor. And allow yourself to settle into your body and invite a sense of ease into your mind. You can begin with the eyes open with a soft gaze, gently taking in your surroundings, feeling into the space around you. Let's begin by taking a few deep breaths, settling in. Inhale through the nose and gently exhale through the mouth. Just noticing what is present, tuning into the rhythm of our breath. And on the next exhale, if it's comfortable, you can close your eyes. Let your breath be your anchor as you settle into this moment, letting go of any tension or distractions. With each inhale and each exhale, we begin to invite a sense of peace and compassion, both for ourselves and for others. If this feels difficult, it's okay. You are doing great. Always return to the breath. Feel the base you are seated on or what is supporting you. Begin to let go of any tension in your legs, any tension in your stomach. Release any tension in your chest. Allow the breath to be your anchor. Now, imagine a warm golden light surrounding you, radiating from the center of your chest. With each breath, feel this light expanding, filling the room and enveloping everyone around you. Visualize yourself surrounded by people with conflicting views, acknowledging their humanity and inherent worth. As you continue to breathe, bring to mind a moment of conflict. Picture yourself gracefully walking away from the situation, releasing any lingering feelings of anger or sadness. Allow yourself to let go of the need to be right. Instead, setting an intention for understanding and connection. Begin to send them loving kindness. Repeat silently to yourself. May you be free from anger. May you be free from sadness. Continue to breathe gently. Now, begin sending yourself loving kindness. May I be free from anger. May I be free from sadness. As you extend these wishes to yourself, acknowledge your...
