Feel Resilient
Resilience isn't the absence of stress. It's the ability to bounce back from it, and it's been shown to lead to more optimism and authenticity. The good news? You already have resilience in your life. Shine's Jacqueline Gould helps you acknowledge that in this meditation.

Author, Jodi Picoult, wrote, "The human capacity for burden is like bamboo, far more flexible than you'd ever believe at first glance." Let's break that down for a second. In your toughest times, when you may think you won't ever get through it, that you're not very resilient, you have more strength than you think. I'm gonna let you in on a little secret. You're actually already one of the most resilient people. Think about it. You've pushed through problems, tackled change, you've worked through failure, and guess what? You survived. We often think resilience means being unaffected by challenges or change. Those movie characters who smirk and wink to the camera when presented with a challenge. But resilience isn't the absence of distress. One more time, resilience isn't the absence of distress. It's about knowing there's a way forward, even when it seems unclear. It's about trusting you can adapt, even if it takes some time. And I have some good news for you, resilience is actually something you can practice. We're gonna take some time now to help you do just that. We'll try an exercise together. Let's start by taking a couple deep grounding breaths. Get comfy wherever you are, notice any tension that you might be holding onto, check in with your jaw, if you're clenching, release it. Check in with your shoulders, if they're heightened, soften them down your back. Breathe in and out, and again, breathe in and out. The more you have hope for yourself, the easier it is to bounce back from change. I'm gonna ask you some questions to help you think about the way you approach hope in your own life. Where do you look for hope in your life? What really needs to happen before you can feel hopeful? Some say the only constant in life is change, but the other constant is you. By trusting things will work out in the end, you're becoming more resilient to change, you're becoming more resilient to those tough moments. I wanna leave you with a little reminder of that. Say this mantra with me out loud or in your head, I trust my own resilience. One more time, I trust my own resilience. I think you have a little more gusto in you. Last time, I trust my own resilience. Amazing job. Keep shining....
