Better mental health starts with Headspace

Hi there, it's Rosie here. Welcome to this meditation for letting go and finding peace. Today, we're getting into the essence of self-care during a fertility journey. For me, this journey is deeply intertwined with the art of letting go of expectation and finding peace in the present moment, something I've grappled with for many years. Expectation can often lead us to premeditated resentment, but our ability to release these expectations and instead rest in present moment awareness allows for a deeper sense of peace to arise within our current process. While our intention to create a family remains strong, learning to let go alleviates pressures for ourselves and for those around us. We may not have a crystal ball to predict the future, but we do know that finding peace, even in small bite-sized portions, can help us forge stronger bonds within ourselves. In today's practice, we will gently release any burdens that are weighing on us. For me, it's helped me find a deep sense of ease on a journey that has created so much heaviness. So let's take a moment whether you're seated on a chair or on the floor, allow yourself to settle into your body and give the mind permission to settle. Start with your eyes open and a soft gaze. Feeling the space around you, whether it's the room you're in or the environment, wherever you find yourself right now. And when you're ready, let's take a few deep breaths together. Inhale deeply through the nose and exhale slowly through your mouth, releasing any tension or distractions. Just taking a moment to become aware of your environment, noticing what is present. And now gently bringing your attention back to the body, starting to get a sense of how the body's feeling in this moment. Noticing a sense of stillness or restlessness, a sense of heaviness or lightness. Take your time without judgment. Begin to bring to mind an intention for today's session. Take a moment to form a sentence or two in your mind. If it feels challenging, perhaps think of how the intention of letting go will benefit you and those around you. Bringing your attention back to the body as we settle the mind on the breath. Noticing how each breath is a little different from the last. And now gently letting go of the need to control or fix anything in this moment. Bring to mind any worries or concerns that you may be holding onto. And with each exhale, imagine releasing them into the space around you. Staying with the breath, noticing when you get distracted, and then gently coming back to the breath. Very gently shift your attention back to your body and back to your breath. Remember, letting go of expectations and embracing self-care are essential to this journey. By releasing the pressure, we create space for true peace to arise. This doesn't mean we let go of our desires. It just means we can be present in...
