Hey there, it's Rosie here. Welcome to this meditation for releasing control and self-blame. In today's practice, we're going to focus on empowering techniques for releasing control and self-blame. As we journey through the complexities of creating a family and having walked this path myself, I understand the challenges and emotional roller coaster it entails. I have found this practice to be helpful to release tension, even if it's just for a moment at a time. It's crucial to recognize that our actions and choices don't define us entirely. Neither do the things that are out of our control. Whether you faced delays in starting your family due to circumstances beyond your control or made decisions based on what felt right at the time, know that you're not alone. This process can often leave us feeling helpless and with the inclination to blame ourselves. Perhaps you made decisions based on what made sense in the moment, or perhaps, you weren't given any choice at all. No matter what the circumstances are, know that we're all in this together. To begin, whether you're seated on a chair or on the floor, allow yourself to settle into your body and give the mind permission to settle. Start with your eyes open and a soft gaze, feeling the space around you, whether it's the room you're in or the environment wherever you find yourself right now. And when you're ready, let's take a few deep breaths together. Inhale deeply through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth, releasing any tension or distractions, gently bringing your attention to your breath. Just taking a moment to become aware of your environment, noticing what is present. And now gently bringing your attention back to the body, starting to get a sense of how the body's feeling in this moment. As you continue to breathe deeply, start to observe if there's a tendency to blame yourself for past decisions or actions. And as you continue to follow the breath, do your best to just stay with one breath after the next, noticing whatever feelings of self-blame arise. Gently remind yourself that you are human and deserving of compassion. Giving yourself permission to let go of the need for control and perfection, especially during moments of heightened stress or uncertainty. You're doing your best. Noticing how this shift in perspective makes you feel, noticing how the breath rises and falls within that feeling. And no matter what the feeling is now, with the next out breath, letting go of it, letting go of any focus on the feeling or the breath, letting the mind wander off to do whatever it wants to do. Very gently shift your attention back to your body, back to your breath, coming back to the present moment. Take a moment to thank yourself for showing up and embracing this journey. You are not alone. Remember, releasing control and self-blame is a process, and every step you take towards self-compassion is a victory....
