Hi, my name is Dr. Janelle McCauley. Thank you for joining me as we learn to integrate mindfulness within our professional workspace using the mindful minute technique. Today, let's start our meeting with a mindful minute to focus our attention and quiet the distractions in our minds. Find a comfortable, upright position. Start by slowing the cadence of your breathing as you inhale and exhale. On your next exhale, visualize relaxing your shoulders, but lifting through the top of your head. Focus intently on one particular sensation of your breathing, and pay attention to it throughout the entire minute. Even in the span of a minute, your mind will wander, but that's okay. Notice the distraction, and then gently redirect your attention back to your breath. This cycle is known as the mental pushup. Repeat this as many times as necessary. Focus on your breath for one minute. Begin. Welcome back. Hopefully you're all feeling more calm, more focused, and more attentive. Now that everyone is fully present, let's begin the meeting or start the presentation. Thank you for joining me. Lead on....
