So I'm assuming that if you've chosen this track, you've just woken up in the middle of the night. Nightmares, bad dreams can take many forms. They can be truly terrifying and affect us in a very physical way. Or they can be just a bit more sort of chronic and disturbing our sleep, disturbing our quality of rest, perhaps making our sleep a little more fitful. Whatever the case, we're gonna do a short exercise, which will hopefully help to almost sort of wash away any residual feelings of discomfort, any residual feelings of fear, or whatever it is that's woken you up in the middle of the night. The first thing you needs to do is just get comfortable though. So if you've got up for any reason, make sure that you're lying back down again. An important thing to say, I think oftenly if we have a particularly frightening nightmare dream, the temptation or the fear is that if we go back to sleep, we might go back to that place in our mind. But typically, once we've broken the sleep, then that story normally stops or at least changes in some way. And as a result of doing this exercise, it's more than likely that any of those storylines will be left behind, and you'll find a more restful place to return to your sleep. So getting comfortable, lying flat on your back or whatever is most comfortable for you. Just begin by taking just two or three big deep breaths, breathing in through the nose, and out through the mouth. And the part I'd like you to really focus on is as you breathe out through the mouth. A sense of letting go of any discomfort in the body, in the mind, almost as though as you exhale the body relaxes, as you exhale the body sinks down. And whenever you feel ready, you can just gently close the eyes. You'll know that it's normal for those images, those thoughts, whatever it might be to reappear in the mind. Doesn't mean that we're going back to that place, it's almost like a shadow. The mind just remember them, just allowing them to come and go. If we don't give them a lot of attention, then eventually they just sort of go away again. So we're just gonna very gently bring our attention into the body with the visualization. And I'd like you to imagine that there's a steady flow of liquid sunshine flowing down through the top of the head. It's clear, it's warm, brings a feeling of ease into the body. We're gonna imagine that sunlight, that sunshine is gonna fill the body up, essentially relaxing any tension in the body, clearing the mind, bringing a greater sense of ease, dissolving any fear, just is bringing us back to a place of balance. So just imagine that that sunshine flowing into the top of the body, down through the body all the way down...
