I think when you experience discomfort alongside somebody else- Yeah. It is this vulnerable experience where there's some fear, uncertainty, it's kind of, it can be awkward. And when you do that alongside somebody else, there's just a highway to connection there. (light music) I hope this is the one I hope it is. Yep. Okay. 24 hours in Korea without money What was that experience like? For this experience in Korea, the idea was to be dropped in a city where you don't speak the language, you don't know the place that well without your wallet to rely on the kindness of strangers for food and housing. So the idea is just to push yourself to interact with people from a place of wanting to connect with them but then also, you know, wanting their help. And so it forces you to meet people in a way that you would never in any other circumstance. I was watching it really uncomfortable. (both laugh) I was uncomfortable doing it as well. Yeah. And I picked this because I wanna know how you were able to work through that discomfort. Ultimately, I met the kindest stranger I could have possibly met. His name is Hojun. And he was just so confused by what I was asking 'cause I needed somewhere to stay and I asked him, "Could I stay at your house?" within two minutes of meeting him. And he thought the request was so outrageous, but he'd never been asked anything like that before and we had a good chat and I explained and I think when you experience discomfort alongside somebody else- Yeah. It is this vulnerable experience where there's some fear, uncertainty, it's kind of, it can be awkward. And when you do that alongside somebody else, there's just a highway to connection there. I've had to learn through those experiences of spending 24 hours just in a city to be mindful of what energy am I going out into the world with. Yeah. I didn't used to really understand that concept or realize that you can attract positivity and optimistic people by being that yourself. Yes. And after this specific experience, I started to develop more awareness of that and it's helped me go out whenever we do kind of experiences with strangers on the street with more trust. Those experiences of being so vulnerable and asking people for help, what it teaches you is there's so much more kindness than you think. People are so much more open than you might believe. I love that, I think it connects us human to human. You're no longer Thomas from Yes Theory- Yeah, totally. It's like I am a human being and so are you and this is uncomfortable, but we're in this together and there's also a sense of compassion that's formed from that of like a deep understanding of the human experience and knowing that we aren't alone. I think that's, for me, one of the highlights of what...
