Give me a holiday tradition. Let's see. (man hums) I'll tell you one. (Jenn laughs) (gentle music) My favorite holiday tradition-- My mom will name certain dishes on the menu after each person in our family; Sophie's pumpkin muffins or dad's stuffed turkey. My grandmother, Mama Cella; Thanksgiving, Christmas, we're both really big. We would have like a Mexican and American. Yeah, it was like this blend. My family does Korean New Year, which we basically just like have a huge Korean feast and we bow to our elders; your elders like giving you good fortune for the rest of the year and setting kind of a really nice precedent. I went to her house one year. It was my first ever experience with Korean New Year. And my family loves him because he'll eat so much food. My mom in Germany, ever since I can remember, like she has made this German Christmas dinner that I love. It's called (indistinct). It's delicious, and I found a restaurant here in the area that makes it, but my mom makes it just a little better. We would always go to Candy Cane Lane at the Riviera Village, walk around the streets and drink hot cocoa, and sing. Christmas in New Zealand is summertime. It's a lot different than in the U.S. Summer Barbecue is staying outside until 9:00 p.m. When I was a kid, I would help my mom with the ornaments. I actually took that from my childhood and I carry it over. I think it's really cool that I can keep that tradition going. My grandmother passed. She always make tamales. I've taken on her recipes. And so the day after Thanksgiving, I had all my friends come over, and family. Everyone brings their leftovers and we all make tamales. It's become one of my annual traditions. Last year was our first Christmas together, so we worked making traditions that year. We got a big tree, which was nice. So we went Christmas tree shopping for the first time together and for the first time with her little dog, whose name is (indistinct). I love that my husband who never celebrated Christmas before he met me is now the one who loves to decorate and get the Christmas tree. We had Thanksgiving together, and of course we don't have Thanksgiving in New Zealand. So we just had two of us on Thanksgiving and we made this huge vegan feast. I think Thanksgiving has really become a big thing for us; having something that we celebrate just us together basically. I think we might have started the new tradition. Our family is very-- We're very unique in the sense that we're all doing our own things, but during that time, it's our time to be together, even if it's for like a few days. So it's really special. (gentle music fades)...
