Tonight's wind-down is a gentle deep breathing exercise. Deep breathing can help us to relax the mind while creating the right conditions for the body to relax and be at rest. This is a moment to unwind from the day and let go of any tension that may have followed you to bed. Giving yourself full permission to be at ease as best as you can. So when you're ready, let's begin. For this breathing exercise, it will be most supportive to lie on your back if you can. This will help the breath flow with ease throughout the body. But if not, find the most comfortable position that feels right for you in this moment. And then just beginning to feel the weight of the body pressing down into the surface beneath you. Softening that space between the eyebrows, the jaw, the shoulders, softening the palms of the hands, the hips, legs, and feet. And now, take a moment to find the breath in the body. Connecting to the rising and falling of each inhale and each exhale. Allowing the mind and body to be at ease as best as you can. Inviting calm on the inhale and letting go of any tension on the exhale. For this breathing exercise, we're going to be taking a deep breath in through the nose, filling the belly with the breath, slowly breathing out through the mouth. We'll then breathe in through the mouth like we're sipping a straw and exhaling slowly out through the nose. Allowing this breath to be a continuous one. So not pausing in between each inhale and each exhale. Breathing in this way gives the mind something to gently focus on. So are you ready? Let's begin. Breathing in through the nose, out through the mouth. Sipping in air through the mouth, breathing out deeply through the nose. Slowly breathing in through the nose, gently breathing out through the mouth. Sipping in air through the mouth, and exhaling out through the nose. In through the nose, out through the mouth. In through the mouth, out through the nose. In through the nose, out through the mouth. In through the mouth, out through the nose. In through the nose, out through the mouth. In through the mouth, out through the nose. And now, just allowing the breath to return back to its natural rhythm. That's great....
