Tonight's wind-down is a gratitude practice. So when you're ready, let's begin. So just take a moment to get comfortable. Letting go of the day, enjoying that feeling of having stopped, of having nothing left to do. Unclenching the jaw, the arms, the legs. Relaxing the body. Gently closing the eyes, and feeling the weight of the body pressing down. Begin to take a couple of slow, deep breaths, inhaling through the nose, and exhaling through the mouth. Taking your time. Inhaling through the nose, and gently exhaling. Your body, continuing to relax. And then allowing your breath to return to its natural rhythm. As you lie here, bring to mind something, someone, or a moment from the day, something that makes you smile. Perhaps right now, you feel grateful just to be in bed. Maybe you did something kind for someone else and it felt good. Whatever it is, however big or small, notice what it feels like to recall it. Perhaps you notice a particular sensation in the body. A warmth. Maybe the corners of the mouth are turning up ever so slightly. Internally express your gratitude and appreciation to someone you care about. Now, allowing yourself to simply be in this moment, letting go of any need to think. Allowing that sense of stillness and gratitude to surround you like a warm embrace. Filling you with a sense of calm and ease in both the body and the mind....
